P01 parameter

Postby lkm020 » Tue May 03, 2011 4:26 pm

Hi,
Can you tell us the significance of this parameter. Is it worth backtesting using different values?
Thanks

There is no need to change that parameter.

P01 is a ForexRealProfitEA internal parameter. Default value is 12. Use only default value.

Until the next update, we will optimize each indicator that we use for each recommended currency. The robot will automatically adjust the optimized values of each indicator used depending on the currency traded, without any need for manual setting.
In this way we want to improve the profit factor and risk reward ratio.
We trade our own money and we do not like to lose also. We will continue to improve the existing solutions and we constantly seek new solutions to increase the long term profit and to reduce the losses that might occur as much as possible.

Thank you for your interest.

Kind regards,
ForexRealProfitEA Team.

Hi Adrian,

OK thanks. For those of us who do our own back testing, optimisation and walk forward testing of our EA portfolio, will it still be possible to use manual settings?
The parameters I would most likely adjust on an ongoing basis would be Take Profit and Stop Loss.

The Volatility Filter sounds interesting; can you explain a bit more about what that is looking for? Is it essentially the speed of price movement?

Hi Kevin,

There is no problem at all if you want to make your custom backtests, optimisations, etc. Just set the"UsePairDefaults" to "false" and you can set any of the parameters manually to your desired values.

We can not tell how our volatility filter works. We can only say that it is an very advanced filter specially concieved to work with our EA and that it will skip many bad trades when market goes crazy, like it happened on the 16th of March 2011 for example. Do not worry about this filter, just use it, it will give you more steady results.
